I have many fond beautiful memories of our lovely sweet Emily, her gorgeous blue smiling eyes, rosey cheeks, perfect comlpexion, pink lips and signature crowning glory curly hair. We had fun conversations when I would trimmed her curls. I loved listening to all her yesteryear stories of her beloved husband, and updates of her loving caring children, and her gorgeous, graceful, talented granddaughters. You were very strong and very blessed to be surrounded by your lovely family you have created! Strong hug and a kiss my sweet Emily <3

Emily and Joe Nicita were my God parents, and they were the perfect God parents for me. I was blessed to have her call me on the phone periodically to offer her consultation in good times and in difficult times. She always seemed to know just the right thing to say depending on the situation. She was a lovely person, and I will miss her. God bless you Emily Nicita. I hope to see you again sometime in heaven. Love, Joe

How does one choose just one memory when we shared so many. Emily’s favorite experience to retell was the time we were visiting them in Saginaw. We decided to go upstairs to get comfortable so we could relax for the evening. We changed and came out into the hallway at the same time—wearing identical robes! Oh, how we laughed! As her memory declined, whenever we spoke, she never forgot to relate this story. The last time we talked (on Thanksgiving Day) once again we retold “our story”. Speaking of Thanksgiving, there were a few holidays when we got a little tipsy while preparing the meal. Wondered who was supposed to mash the potatoes! I have no doubt that Joe and Emily are together again in paradise. I will love them and miss them forever ???

Mrs. Nicita was the sweetest woman I had met as a teenager, and will forever be remembered as a graceful and beautiful soul who made an impact on me. Forever an angel watching over her family.

She was a dear friend and colleague. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a ready smile. We had lost touch but Russ and I send our sympathy to each of the children.

I loved meeting Aunt Emily and Uncle Joe at Point Reyes during their west coast visit. However the memory that sticks with me the most is her telling the story of being surprised by Uncle Joe on her birthday with him wearing only birthday balloons. She told it so fondly.

I was blessed to know Emily because our husbands worked together in the association that represents educational service agencies. We met at conferences all over the nation and had adventures beyond belief. If I were to choose one special memory, it would be the day the four of us went over to Mackinaw Island. We were considering having a meeting there so we got the royal treatment in every way. Emily couldn't stop smiling! The weather was perfect and we laughed so hard our teeth hurt. We stopped by Alice's Kitchen on the island and got the best caramel corn ever. We started to get one tub for their of us to share. Then Joe suggested we get a tub for the front seat and one for the back seat. We ate it all! That caramel corn and Sander's Fudge Sauce ( that my family called Emily's Sauce) kept those memories alive for many years. I love you, dearest Emily. Thank you for your friendship and the sweet memories.

My wife Terrie Nicita- Moore, who passed in June, loved her Aunt Emily very much. I remember her as such a loving and caring person. Though we hadn't seen her in years, she will be greatly missed. My prayers to all her family and friends

Very sorry for your loss. I remember Aunt Emily fondly. My grandpa is Frank Nicita. I saw her at various family functions and she was always incredibly kind and loving! Always had a hug, smile and a kind word. She always used to call and check on us to see how we were doing. Such a loving, kind soul!

I worked with Emily's daughter Maria. I did not know Emily but based on her tribute wall and her obituary Emily sounds like a wonderful person and I wish I did know her. I like to send deepest sympathy to Emily's entire family, as you have lost a Gem. May fond memories bring you peace at this difficult time.

Emily Nicita came into our lives when our daughter, Katie married her son, Sam. Leonard and I came to love her. Together, we shared family events, holidays and our joy in being grandparents. For twenty plus years, we enjoyed her love and kindness. Was there ever a kinder woman? Her death ends one of the happiest times in our lives. Rest In Peace dear Emily.
